• Steamboat Springs is 6,795 feet above sea level.
• Surrounding mountains rise to more than 11,000 feet.
• According to weather records from the past 80 years, Steamboat has the least variable weather pattern of any place in Colorado.
• January is typically Steamboat's coldest month, hitting an average high of 29°. To date, Steamboat's coldest recorded temperature is -54° on Jan. 7, 1913.
• July is typically Steamboat's warmest month, hitting an average high of 83°. Steamboat's record hot day was Aug. 26, 1948, when the temperature reached 98°.
• Local snowfall ranges from170 to 450 inches per year. The Steamboat Ski Area receives an average of 310 inches annually. Downtown Steamboat averages 173 inches annually. A new snowfall record was set with 489 inches measured at mid mountain in 2008.

• Steamboat's population was estimated at 11,083 in 2006 - 24% higher than the 1999 estimate of 8,965.
• Steamboat is the 38th largest municipality in Colorado.
• Routt County had an estimated 22,860 people as of 2007.
• Routt County grew nearly 40% between 1990 and 2000, according to the 2000 U.S. Census. Colorado's state population grew by 30.6%, and the overall U.S. population increased 13.1% during the same decade.

• Steamboat Springs is about 160 miles northwest of Denver, a three-hour drive.
• Steamboat's offers a complimentary local bus service that runs continuously from 7 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. daily.
• The Steamboat Springs Airport, aka Bob Adams Field, is three miles west of downtown and has a 4,700-foot runway for general aviation including light business jets and turbo-prop aircraft. Jet fuel and aviation gasoline is available during business hours. Rental cars are also available with prior reservations.

The Yampa Valley Regional Airport is located 22 miles west of Steamboat Springs, near Hayden, and underwent a major face lift in the past 3 years amounting to $18,000,000 in improvements.  Daily shuttle services transport passengers between Steamboat and Denver International Airport. The Yampa Valley Regional Airport accommodates jet service with direct flights from Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, La Guardia, Newark and Salt Lake City during the ski season.  Getting here has never been easier through the resort's nonstop flight program and the recently renovated
