"We're open this ski season. Owners can look forward to all the amenities in our building," says Debbie Edgerton, ownership representative for One Steamboat Place (OSP). Debbie mentions that owners can enjoy their private amenities now, while the Truffle Pig restaurant and gourmet grocer have postponed their public opening until later this year. A few retailers have moved in and the fire pits are glowing with enough Smores for all passersby. "We're envisioning a lot of vibrancy and a real hot spot for the Steamboat base village."
Condo owners and guests of these developments are subject to an epic skiing experience while staying in some posh accommodations. All three have outrageous amenities to guarantee a return visit. Whether it's soaking in the spa grotto at Trailhead Lodge, getting a full workout in at Edgemont or having a favored bottle of Cabernet decanted at OSP, life around the base area has changed.
Remember the old sledding hill off Mt. Werner Circle? This winter you'll see a new gondola traipsing up the hillside. Trailhead Lodge, which completed construction in summer 2009, has installed a six-person gondola outside the doors of their five-story building. The public is invited to ride this gondola this February, which will drop off at OSP to catch the main gondola, but owners at Trailhead Lodge will get preferred treatment.
"Regardless of whether you ride it, you'll definitely see it. It will create a cool, majestic element to the base area," Kerry Shea, director of sales and marketing for Trailhead Lodge in Wildhorse Meadows, says about the lower capacity gondola. "When people experience Steamboat now there's a new presence and life along the corridor to the base."
Just south of the Christie Peak Express a wood and limestone sided building now houses 41 more condos in a more residential-style setting. There's no retail or commercial operations up this side of the slopes but residents and guests will find that skiing directly out the door will add ease and comfort to their stay in Steamboat.
Eventually, the 4-acre Edgemont site will be home to another eight-story building adjacent to the one just completed, as well as seven duplex townhomes to create its own "neighborhood" feel, says Edgemont's Allison Finn. "For those driving up to the site this winter, they'll notice a new parking lot also; turn left to go to Edgemont and right for Bear Claw."
The Steamboat base doesn't lack its share of new condos with all the bells and whistles to make the experience of every traveler and owner a memorable one. If you're interested in touring these properties, please call Kelly Stahl at Prudential Steamboat Realty, 970.846.6072
