Spring is here and Steamboat is going through some changes. Steamboat City Council approved up to $2.5million for base area improvement at the ski area to start this summer. It was a unanimous decision and will provide many jobs and much desired activity at the base area this summer. If you're up near the ski area, make sure you stop in at The Powder Room which is open through mud-season. Also, take a tour of One Steamboat Place - but make sure you have a guide because it is easy to get lost.
There is quite a bit of pine tree removal going on near Thunderhead high speed lift. Some walking and riding trails may be closed and the disc-golf course will not be returning there this year.
Due to crazy spring weather (or maybe just normal Rocky Mountain spring weather) construction on Highway 40 through downtown is behind schedule. Crews were trying to get it done by June, but now must clean up, stop, and restart in September. Also, for those of you who haven't seen the downtown construction, be prepared for a new stop light at 11th street on Lincoln Avenue. Personally, I always feel that it's a big deal when Steamboat gets a new stoplight.
If you're in town, come by for a tour of some new houses and real estate listed by the Vanatta Group.
At $7,200,000 Pam Vanatta's new listing in Catamount is ultra luxurious. Right on the golf course.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have a 1 acre lot listed in Stagecoach for only $13,000. This is the cheapest lot in Stagecoach.
If you would like to experience true downtown listing, the Vanatta Group has an Alpenglow Unit for sale. This beautiful top floor unit is in the heart of Steamboat Springs.
If you want to be closer to the Ski Mountain, check out this luxury home on Burgess Creek Road. Just listed at $1,395,000, it is private yet close to skiing.
For a special investment opportunity you might be interested in Anne Mayberry's new listing up by the Ski Area. The Athlone townhome and duplex are both for sale in the $400,000's. The townhome is three stories. The duplex is 2 separate 2 bedroom, 1 bath units.
As always, if you have any questions about Steamboat Springs real estate, or if you would like a tour of any properties in Steamboat, give us a call. We hope you are having a great spring and hope to see you in the Yampa Valley soon!
Sincerely,
The Vanatta Group
